Description
:
A brief Structural Inspecion concerning the installation of a Solar Energy System on the roof of the large 40+/- year old metal building revealed an old building that was unsafe by 2024 standards. The structural evaluation found the structural members can support the self-eight and dead loads of deck and purlin only. The primary frame cannot support any additional live load/environmental load, especially wind load. This structure needs to be reinforced or strengthened to support code minimum live load or any other additional loading that needs to be applied in the future. A detailed investigation of the entire building needs to be done.
