The company was founded in 1928 by Sir Leslie Joseph Hooker. In the mid-1980s, L.J. Responsibilities included:
- Design Development
- Selecting General Contractors;
- Obtaining Necessary Permits;
- Total Construction Management authority; and
- Coordination of tenant finish work.
Projects were as follows:
- Northfield Crossing, Murfreesboro, TN 76,800 SF Strip type center Construction cost $2.3 Million
- Carter Oak Crossing, Norcross, GA 190,000 SF Strip type center & restaurants Construction cost $8.9 Million
- Windsor Station, Atlanta, GA 46,300 SF Strip type center, combination of rehabilitated and new space Construction cost $2.0 Million
- Westgate Center, Augusta, GA 52,500 SF Three one story offices Construction cost $2.0 Million
