Description

:

The NPTC Building 400 tower, bridge & garden building was faced with granite tiles which had been adhered to the concrete structure using only mortar. Some large, granite, cut stones and “tiles” had fallen from the Building’s tall columns and walls near the Motor Court; many other stones had become loose. These weighed hundreds of pounds and a strike on a human could be fatal. CRESG worked with the contractor to develop a method for mechanically fastening the tiles. CRESG served as the project manager for the remedial work involving pinning tiles to the structure.
